July 2003
Guess who's back?
Sorry for botching the links
to the January and February archives. There's not really much there,
just some stuff I probably wrote in March and pretended like I wrote it
during the right months. I really need to clean up the links on the
left side of the page. I don't play Heretic II very often anymore,
and the links page I have there isn't really worth much. Also, putting
the link to Gone Gold with a bunch
of my stuff makes it look like I write for that particular site, and while
it would be nice to have a paying job writing for some respectable site
rather than my current collection of ramblings hosted on my mother's webspace
that came with our ISP account, I'm afraid nobody would believe I'm reliable
or credible enough to do that. I mean, look at me. I read the
Straight
Dope Message Board all the time, and I've never even taken the trouble
to post in Great Debates or attempt to make a coherent argument about anything,
because I'm afraid of getting shot down. It really is a fear I have.
Nothing but net... I mean spam
Wow, have I ever been getting
a lot of spam this summer. Spam spam spam, it just never ends.
I think every single possible permutation of message under 1000 characters
has been sent to me already in the form of spam due to all the randomization
algorithms, so no spam filter would work because it would block out all
messages. Isn't there some kind of anti-spam law in place?
Maybe there's just a big boat somewhere on international waters that has
nothing but a bunch of wireless satellite-linked machines that send anonymous
spam all day. Forget the war on terror; we need a war on spam so
we can sink that boat once and for all.
More places I hardly ever go
I haven't been going to The
Lovely Pink Place or the Dark
Café lately, so I don't need those links on the link list either.
Maybe I should make a separate page for the games, too.
