Slide Rock State Park

Slide Rock State Park is a wonderful natural water slide in the cool waters of Oak Creek which courses through the beautiful red walls of Oak Creek Canyon. It's toads of fun, but bring aqua sox or some old tennis to protect your feet from the rocks. The Park has hiking trails and picnic areas and is a great place to spend the day relaxing near the river. The park is on the site of an old farmstead with refurbished farm buildings and an apple orchard.

Slide Rock State Park
Slide Rock State Park Of course the main attraction of Slide Rock State Park is the natural water slide shown in the photo to the left. The red rock from which this canyon is carved is just so captivating.
In the photo to the right you see a family exploring the river and enjoying the cool waters of Oak Creek. I was amazed at how cold the water was until I realized that the source was melting snow in the mountains located upstream.
