03/01/2007: "Yarn fever"

The office is closing in half an hour. It will probably take a good 1.5 - 2 hours for us to get home.

I'm kicking myself for not buying more yarn the other day. I've got a hankering to start on my next quick project, which is going to be legwarmers that actually fit over my mammoth calves. I bought cute ones with skulls the other day and the skulls get all stretchy and distorted on my crazy legs. The idea is to HIDE my freakish anatomy, not enhance it.

I started working on an afghan last night in earnest. I started off with a pattern but no matter what I can't get the scale right. I just don't have enough crochet hooks to find the right size. I said screw it and just started off with a chain that is as long enough. I've got two colors and I'm probably going to do 2 rows of sc, 1 row dc, 2 more sc, then switch colors and keep repeating that all the way down. So far so good. I got my first color block done last night, which is why I'm so tired today. I planned to go to bed around 9:00 because I wasn't feeling great but I ended up crocheting until 11:00. I was crocheting like the wind though.

I've got some leftover chunky yarn from my hat that will probably have to become my legwarmers. They'll be cozy!
