DECEMBER 2007                           2                           SERVO CHATTER

Meeting Minutes
November 15, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7 P.M.
21 members present.

Board Reports:

* Vice President: Andy Noll reported that the raffle's first prize, a Battle Axe SSC combat plane, was donated by the manufacturer.  In return they wanted a picture of the winner.

* Safety: Kevin Carlson reminded us of the need for safety when flying SSC combat.  A number of club members have been enjoying this activity.  A recommendation of limiting the RPM was made along with the need for hard hats.

* Membership: Stan Zdon reminded us that it's time to renew our membership.  Be sure to renew your AMA as this is required for membership.

* Treasurer: Jake Groetsch reports that we are ending the year ahead of where we were a year ago.  This was primarily the result of decreased spending and converting the newsletter to electronic format thus saving printing and postage.

Old Business:

* Darren Bitzer reported that he has the roofing material for the shelter and would like to put the new roof on December 8th.  Several club members made themselves available and the tear off will happen on Friday afternoon, December 7th.

New business:

* There will be an IMAC contest sponsored by Tri Valley this summer.  This will be the first held in Minnesota.  Stay tuned for further details.

* Elections were planned for the evening, but as it turned out there were four willing nominees to fill the four available spots so the election was not necessary.  Serving for the next two years are: Andy Noll, Jim Taylor, Eric Castrodale and Steve Ulrich. Their positions will be determined at the next board meeting.

Show and Tell:

* Stan Zdon brought in an absolutely beautiful Sig Spacewalker that he had been working on for the past few months.  He tells us that the kit had been aging behind his furnace for several years.  Evidently the time was right because it turned out super!  Stan covered the model in 21st Century fabric with some 21st Century film detail.  The markings were all hand cut and Stan even fabricated an extremely realistic instrument panel for which he described the process.  The cowl and wing tips were painted with several coats of LusterKote.  There is an OS120 Surpass engine up front for power with it's own on board glow system.  The charge jacks and switch are neatly installed in the front cockpit for easy access.  Stan tells us his next kit will be a 5th scale Clem 135 which was a pre WWII trainer used in Europe.
