APRIL 2007                           3                           SERVO CHATTER

Meeting Minutes
MARCH 15, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7 P.M.
      23 members present.

Board Reports:

* Vice President:  Andy Noll called the meeting to order and reviewed the raffle prizes for the evenings drawing.

* Safety:  Kevin Carlson noted that there were no safety issues so far this year.  It was noted that the there has been a fire in one of the chip piles at the plant behind the field for a while now.

* Membership:  Stan Zdon noted that the club now has between 75 & 80 renewed members so far this year.  He also mentioned that the Web site has been down due to ISP issues and these should be resolved shortly.

*Treasurer:  Jake Groetsch noted that while the club is in overall good financial shape it would be a good idea to curb our spending as we move into the active season.  This suggestion was based on the latest projections.  Some discussion followed and it was generally agreed that we should exercise some extra care when spending for events, etc.  There was also some discussion as to whether the porta-potty should be removed during the winter months.  Jake will check into a couple of other services to determine the most economical way to go.

Old Business:

* A request to modify the channel board to reflect Spread Spectrum users was again made.

New business:

* April 21 will be the first Fun Fly of the season.

* There was some additional discussion regarding the advantages/disadvantages of glow vs. electric at the Fun Flies.

Show and Tell:

* Ray Jelinek brought in his Wing Mfg. B17.  It is coming along great!!  Ray had the fuselage and wings all framed up.  There are no visible control horns on the rudder or elevator.  Ray plans on using (4) 40 Four Stroke OS engines to power the unit.  He estimates a completed weight of between 12 and 15 pounds and is planning to cover the model in Monokote.

* Andy Noll brought in a Whirlwind that is a foam model with a full airfoil.  He is using a brushless motor with an 8" prop and a 1000MA LiPo battery.  He was quite satisfied with the performance and the amount of flying time per charge.

* Bob Proulx brought in a mystery bag of glow engines/parts which he offered up for raffle.  Darren Bitzer won the raffle with a winning bid of $175.00 after a lively bidding session.  While we never did get a look at what was inside, Darren was satisfied that he got his monies worth and the club is ahead $175.00.  Thanks Bob!!!
