Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. 23 members present.
Board Reports:
* Safety: Kevin reminded us of the need to put our cards up on the board, even if we are using a spread spectrum radio. There will be a spot designated for the spread spectrum radios on the board shortly. The Andersons donated a new first aid kit for the club.
* Membership: Stan reports that we now have 90 renewed members for the year.
* Events: Bob reminded us of the Fun Fly on Saturday. Trim flights at 9 AM. Contest begins 10 AM sharp.
* Treasurer: Jake followed up on the porta potty. It seems we can save a few hundred dollars by switching companies, but that will mean no service in the middle of winter. No one thought that was a serious issue.
Old Business:
* For the Pattern and Scale contests this year it was suggested that we charge spectators $5 for all they could eat. This would help offset some of the food expenses which the club has been incurring.
* The Fly In for May 20 was discussed in some detail. There is concern about the weather on Sunday. It was agreed that Tim, who is the CD for this event, would make the call about canceling the event if the weather forecast looked unfavorable.
* Darrin Bitzer mentioned that he is working on getting roofing material from his boss for the shelter.
New business: * No new business
Show and Tell:
* Marc Davis brought in a ducted fan by HET. It is powered by a 2W engine with a 45A ESC and a 3700 LiPo battery. He gets about five minutes of flight during which the plane reaches speeds of 78 mph. He mentioned that landing was difficult due to the small frontal area the plane presents on approach. The plane was nicely finished and we are looking forward to seeing it fly shortly.
