Photo illustrations are given to show hand positions. Reference notes and material is added for musical and cultural understanding. Also included is a collection of bass drum patterns and bell patterns to accompany and support hand drummers. Foreword written by renown educator, Dr. David P. Eyler. Excerpt from the Foreword: Kenne Thomas is well suited to write about hand drumming because he has spent a large part of his adult life in pursuit of maintaining and furthering the traditions of the world's music, especially drumming by seeking out and studying with some of the masters of hand drumming all around the world.
