Scott2 The Scott Baio/Scott Bosshardt Story
Chachi Too, Behind the Music...
.
Scott and Scott decided to stick together through their next several projects - the teen sex romp, "Zapped", and the family comedy, "Charles in Charge". |
.The Boss' whacky sense of humor was clearly visible during these years, as he and Scott Baio played constant pranks on each other, insinuating themselves into each other's scenes in the most unlikely of places. |
. One moment The Boss was playing the main buddy role, originally cast for Wilile Ames, the next moment he was walking through the background in Alfred Hitchcock's trademark manner. Scott Baio jokingly recalls, "One time, we're shooting this scene where I'm supposed to be fooling around with my love interest in the movie, and we're finishing up my, well, my deflowering, and to celebrate we're sharing a cigarette. I took a drag, and handed it off to what I thought was her hand, only to realize that Scott was laying there stark naked between the two of us, puffing on that thing like he'd been there the whole time." |
The Boss' acting range was so great, that when Scott2 made the leap from the big screen to the small screen, he felt it would be more of an acting challenge to play a troubled teen with what can only be described as "nerd" tendencies, than it would be to play the best buddy. |
Throughout the Charles in Charge years, Scott parlayed his acting skills into playing a number of roles in the show, including roles offscreen as screenwriter and producer. And the whole time he was thinking of the future, about what to do when the fame ended. He knew their ride to the top had been a good one, and that everything saw its day in the sun - he'd invested his money wisely, and that of his best buddy. The future held the promise of a relaxing career doing what the two Scotts had been interested in doing their whole lives, juggling at Rennaisance festivals as a comedic singing duo. |
Scott Baio wanted the same future, and throughout the Charles in Charge years put his time on the line to practice his balancing and spinning, often juggling several basketballs at a time on the sidelines of the stage while other actors practiced their lines. |
Later in the run of the show, The Boss even took over for Scott Baio as the lead while Scott attended an intensive 12 month juggling camp. Fans loved the change, when the Boss was segued in as Charles' "older brother". |
And while many Behind the Music stories end in pain and heartbreak. This one ends on an uplifting note - The Ox realized the dream he'd had so many years ago working on Happy Days - he and Scott Baio formed the first Rennaisance Fair juggling team to tour the U.S. circuit - trading bowling pins and quips with equal expertise. They invite you to join them at one of their many venues, reveling in the fun that is Scott2. Touring Dates:
