The next site was just as
amazing. We got to the end of the boardwalk on the Anhinga Trail
and found the feeding frenzy of photographers. |

There's a lot of saw grass
and water in the Everglades. It's amazing how your perspective is affected
when you see the roadside sign that proclaims your altitude to be 3 feet
above mean sea level! |

We couldn't miss the chance to meet
Flipper's Granddaughter while we were in the Keys. So we
drove ourselves to the Dolphin
Research Center on Grassy Key. When these active, gregarious
creatures peek at you out of the water you can feel how intelligent
they are. In a past incarnation the Dolphin Research Center
was a private home of a man who collected dolphins. This
is where the original Flipper was trained and filmed. The
Dolphin Research Center is a nonprofit education and research
facility. |
