Makena
Big Beach
is located on the south shore of Maui at the very base of Haleakala.
We sat in the shade while we watched Humpback whales surface and
breach in the beautiful blue green waters of the Pacific. |

The
West Maui Mountains as seen from Olowalu.
The fields in the foreground are planted in sugar cane. One of
the safest and most beautiful places you can snorkel is located near
Olowalu at mile marker 14. The water is warm, shalow, and calm. This
is a good place for first time snorkelers. Please
don't stand on the coral. The world's coral reefs are in trouble
and need our TLC. Mahalo. |

The
Iao Needle
located in the West Maui Mountains a short drive from Wailuku. The
needle rises 1200 feet from the valley floor. The Wailuku river
is seen cascading over the boulders here. |
