JULY 2007                                       3                           SERVO CHATTER

MEMBERSHIP NEWS

The July meeting is at the field starting at 7:00PM.  If you get there early you can get in some flying before the meeting.  The board also tries to make the meetings short so that you can fly afterwards.  Remember that you should be using your current membership card to mark your channel and guests should be using their AMA card to verify their AMA membership.  If you need a new membership card let me know.  I can send you a new card - no charge.

Please take all of your trash home with you.  One of the reasons for not having a trash barrel at the field is that it was too hard to get someone to empty it.  For many years it has worked well without it because EVERYBODY took the responsibility for keeping the field clean.  Please make sure that when you leave the field that it is cleaner than when you arrive.

FLOAT FLY
The ACRC float fly will be held again this year at Long Lake in New Brighton on July 25 with a rain date of July 26.  See the map in the newsletter for directions.  If you have questions call Bud Durant at (763) 574-1397.

SCALEMASTERS

ACRC will be hosting the Minnesota Scale Classic on August 4.  A member of the Scale Flyers of Minnesota will CD the contest.  ACRC will be taking care of the food and beverages.
Registration starts at 8AM and flying starts at 9AM.  AMA Rules--bring your AMA card.
Call AMA for a free rulebook or download from www.modelaircraft.org.

No entry fee!  Plaques through 3rd place in each event plus prizes.

Events will be:
Fun Scale 520 - Novice and Expert
   Sportsman/Expert combined 513
   Team Scale 522.

The top 30% in Sportsman/Expert and top 30% in Team Scale will be invited to the national Scale Masters Championships.

Fun Scale is a great way to get started in scale contest flying.  All you need is a sport scale model or ARF of any real aircraft.  There will be no static points in Fun Scale--you will be scored on flying only.

Contact contest director John Baligrodzki at 651-779-0434 or at baligrodzki1@yahoo.com for more information.

ELECTRIC FLY

The ACRC Electric Fly will be September 8 this year.  Kevin Carlson is in charge and flying starts at 8:00 AM.

THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE AT THE FIELD ON JULY 19 AT 7:00 PM.

There will be a Fun-Fly on Saturday July 21.  Come on out and see if you can beat the Senior Citizen who flies the Fun-51.

THOUGHTS FOR JULY

1. The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

2. Never take life seriously. No one gets out alive anyways.

3. Gardening Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

4. An unbreakable toy is useful for breaking other toys.

5. If quitters never win, and winners never quit, then who is the fool who said, "Quit while you're ahead?"

7. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

8. Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

9. Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

10. Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.
