Note (1) Hastings Gazette June 21, 1902

Mrs. Patrick Furlong, an old and highly esteemed resident of Dakota County,
died at her home in Pine Bend on Saturday, after a protracted illness.  Miss
Catherine Eagan was born in King's County, Ireland in 1837 and was married in
this county.  She leaves a husband, one son Thomas P. , two daughters, Mrs
William Ryan and Mrs. P.H. Rowe, of Pine Bend, and a large circle of friends to
mourn her loss.  The funeral was held at St. Patrick's Church, Inver Grove on
Monday, at ten am., the Rev. William McGolrick officiating.

Patrick Furlong a pioneer resident of Dakota county died at his home in Rich
Valley yesterday.  He was born in County Wexford, Ireland July 1st 1825.  He
leaves 2 sons and three daughters.  The funeral will be held from St. Patrick's
church, Inver Grove on Monday. Internment at the Church Cemetery.
