Seltorian Shipyards (R16)

NOTE: On some SSDs the fighter/shuttles have shaded boxes, these represent the crippled the status of the fighter/shuttle.
NOTE: On some SSDs the crew check-off boxes have a 'B' or 'D' in them, these represent the crew units that are Boarding Parties or Deck Crews.

(R15D.101) NEST SHIP (NST) This very large ship (which the Tholians called a Nest ship) arrived in this galaxy two years later than most of the Seltorian Fleet. Neo-Tholian sources were aware such a ship existed, but were surprised when it showed up. Some sources indicate it had engine problems in the transit from the Tholian Home Galaxy, while other contend it had been damaged and the Seltorians held it just outside this galaxy until repairs could be completed. Smaller than the Hive ship, it was none-the-less enormous in comparison to ships of this galaxy. It could still dock two cruisers and two destroyers. It like its larger sister the HVS, could build both cruiser and destroyer sized ships. It is treated as the Hive Ship (R15.13) for docking, repairing and building ships.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 9-16uPP/4-8uP. Command Rating 10. One Nest ship arrives in the Spring of Y184. The Nest ship receives its PF flotillas on Turn #33 Fall Y184. The NST has the same EW as the Hive Ship. A ship counter is provided.

(R15P.110) HEAVY CARRIER (CVA) A proposal introduced shortly after the first carriers begin serving with the fleet. A shortage of pilots and the introduction of PFs forced the cancellation of this ship. The plans called for an escort group of a CE and 2 DDE.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 12(12)/6(6). Command Rating 10. One DN can be converted to CVA in the Fall of Y184. Cost is 2 EP plus the cost of fighters. A counter for both the single ship and the 4CVA is provided.

(R15D.210) BATTLE CARRIER (BCV) A follow on design to the CVS, this proposal was cancelled before modifications could begin because of the introduction of PFs. Had the ship been built it would have operated a full squadron of Z-Y fighters with non-Klingon volunteers. The ship was scheduled to operate with the same escorts (CE and DDE) as the CVS.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 10(6)/5(3). Command Rating 10. One BCH can be converted to BCV in the Spring of Y184. Cost is 2 EP plus the cost of fighters. A counter for both the single ship and the 3BCV are provided.

(R15D.211) HEAVY FIGHTER BATTLE CARRIER (BVH) Although the Seltorians never built a BCV they did (using a heavy fighter squadron donated by the Kingons) modify a single BCH to operate heavy fighters. The ship was used in a failed attempt to destroy a Tholian BATS. It operated with a CE and DDE as escorts.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 10(8H)/5(4H). Command Rating 10. One BCH can be converted to BVH in the Fall of Y184. Cost is 2 EP plus the cost of fighters. A counter for both the single ship and the 3BVH are provided.

(R15P.301) HEAVY TUG (HTT) Recent discoveries have brought to light the fact that one of the ships brought by the Seltorians to our galaxy was a heavy tug. This ship was based on their heavy cruiser. It was carrying a pair of cargo pods when it arrived. The heavy tug can carry one "1" WT or two ".5" WT pods. Two ".5" WT pods are the equivalent of one "1" WT pod and increase the movement cost to 1.33 and the turn mode to E. It cannot carry one ".5" WT and one "1" WT pods. While there may have been additional ships of this design, it is believed that only one such ship made it to our galaxy.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors 5-8/2-4. Command Rating 8. Add one HTT to initial Seltorian set up. Can convert CA to HTT once per year beginning in the Spring of Y183. Conversion cost is 4 EP. A ship counter and Battle Pod and Carrier pod counters are provided.

(R15P.302) HEAVY SURVEY CRUISER (HSR) Built a short time after the Light Survey Cruiser. This ship, which was built in secret, was used by the Seltorians for long range exploration. The single example of this class proved valuable in helping the Seltorians track down the 312th.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 5-8u/3-4. Command Rating 8. Add one HSR to initial Seltorian set up. Can be substituted for CA (once per year) beginning in Y183. Cost is 5 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.303) COMMAND CRUISER (CC) Designed by the Seltorians to allow the control of larger fleets. This ship was a minor conversion of their CA class. Not many such conversions were done as the Seltorians felt the cost and labor involved were not worth the effort.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 9/5. Command Rating 9. Can convert one CA to CC (once a year) beginning in Y185. Cost is 2 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15D.305) FAST SCOUT CRUISER (FSC) The design for this ship (which was never built) was pushed by the Klingons on the Seltorians. The Klingons wanted additional scouting capability but did not want to divert warships for that purpose. The Seltorians for their part were also reluctant to spare warships for this purpose. The ship was a planned at the same time as the fast cruiser and had it been built would no doubt have entered service at about the same time (Y185).
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 4-8Fu/2-4. Command Rating 9. (4EW:2AF)(1EW:4AF). Can convert one FC to FSC beginning in Y185. Cost is 5 EP (two step conversion). No additional ships of this type can be produced by any means. A counter is provided.

(R15P.350) NEW MAULER CRUISER (NMA) Disappointed with the performance of the LMA, the Seltorians were unwilling to give up the concept of a mauler. To this end a pair of modified front hull units were built. These were added to a light cruiser which had been slated as the second of the light maulers. The design produced a heavy mauler. Trouble with the power connection caused delays and the ship did not begin tests until the spring of Y186.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 10/4. Command Rating 8. Can convert one per year beginning in the Spring of Y186. Can have only one in service at any given time. Conversion cost is 5 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.401) LIGHT SURVEY CRUISER (LSR) The Light Survey Cruiser was one of the original Seltorian ships to arrive in the Milky Way galaxy. At first it was widely believed that the scouts were not used in the Tholian/Seltorian galaxy. However, later examination of the records has proved the original analysis was in error. The Seltorians used at least one ship of this type to follow the trial left by the 312th Battle Fleet.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 3-7u/1-4. Command Rating 6. Add one LSR to initial Seltorian set up. Can be substituted for CL (once per year) beginning in Y183. Cost is 5 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.402) LIGHT TUG CRUISER (LTT) Built by the Seltorians to supplement the Heavy Tug. Records would seem to indicate that this design was more numerous than its larger sister, the HTT. The light tug can carry one "1" WT or two ".5" WT pods. Two ".5" WT pods are the equivalent of one "1" WT pod and increase the movement cost to 1.00 and the turn mode to E. It cannot carry one ".5" WT and one "1" WT pods. One of these ships accompanied the Seltorians chasing the 312th.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 3-7/1-4. Command Rating 6. Add one LTT to initial Seltorian set up. Can convert CL to LTT once per year beginning in the Spring of Y183. Conversion cost is 3 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.403) MULTI-ROLE CRUISER (MRC) When other races began deploying Multi-role cruisers, the Seltorians originally showed little or no interest in the design. When they began joint operations, with the Klingons against the Tholians, they felt the design had some merit. With a great deal of help from the Klingons, the Seltorians managed, in Y184, to modify one of their light cruisers to this design. The ship is capable of being changed by the Hive ship.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 7(1)/4. Command Rating 6. Can convert one per turn beginning in the Spring of Y184. Conversion cost is 2 EP plus 1 EP for the fighters. It is treated as an HDW, and can perform all the missions (except D) as outlined in (4H.0) Captains Module P6 The Galactic Smorgasbord. A ship counter and MRC Missions counters are provided.

(R15P.404) MAULER (LMA) The Seltorians were intrigued by the possibility of combining their shield cracker with Klingon mauler technology. They finally managed to win approval from the Klingons and in Y183 began modifications to a light cruiser. The ship was finished in Y184 and in its first mission was destroyed by elements of the Tholian 312th Battle Fleet. The ship like all maulers suffers from shock. There are two maulers and any power system can be connected to either one. It is believed that the Seltorians disappointed with the ship never built another.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 7/4. Command Rating 6. Can convert one per year beginning in the Spring of Y184. Can operate no more than two. Conversion cost is 4 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.405) LIGHT REPAIR CRUISER (CLR) As the Seltorians started operations against the Tholians, they began to suffer damage to their ships. In more than one case had minor repairs been made the ships could have escaped destruction. The high command therefore commissioned a design study intended to produce a ship capable of making minor, but necessary repairs to ships, and thus allowing them to return to the hive ship for complete repairs. The single example of this class was destroyed in early Y185 while making repairs to a heavy cruiser. The ship makes repairs as do Star Bases. Ships which are to be repaired must be docked to the repair cruiser while repairs are made.

(R15D.406) SCOUT ESCORT CRUISER (CLSE) When the Seltorians built their CVS, some Senior Sages wanted to produce a Scout Escort Cruiser as the Tholians and Klingons had done. However, others rejected the idea because of the loss of firepower. While plans were drawn up, the split among the Senior Sages prevented such a ship from being built.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 3-7un/1-4u. Command Rating 6. EWP is 2. Can convert one CL to CLSE for 4 EP, or from a CLE for 3 EP in Y184. A counter is provided.

(R15D.480) FAST TACTICAL TRANSPORT (FTT) The Seltorians, urged on by the Klingons modified a LTT to this design. Like other FFTs is was designed to re-supply the fast and far reaching X-ships. Reducing the cargo by 17% allowed them to add two very small forward hull each containing just a small destroyer-frigate engine with adding to the mass of the ship. Further mass was saved by replacing the Particle Cannon with a Phaser-1 and the two existing Phaser-1s with Special Sensors, which were used to aid in both locating the X-ships and enemy ships that needed to be avoided. This ship is capable of carrying any pod the LTT can, but most often only carried a cargo pod and many times carried no pod at all.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 4-7Fu/2-4. Command Rating 6. EW=2. Can build one per turn beginning in SY184. Build cost is 7 EP. Counts against both scouts and LTTs. A counter is provided.

(R15D.490) ADVANCED LIGHT CRUISER (CLX) The appearance of Tholian X-ships send waves of panic through the Seltorians. Unable at first to match the technology, the Seltorian appealed to the Klingons. With help from the Klingons, the Seltorian were able to build a couple of carefully modified light cruisers using X-technology.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 10/5. Can be built in Y185. Cost is 10 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15002) HEAVY SCOUT (HSC) The Seltorians found their SC to be inadequate against the Tholians, so they modified a CL into a heavy scout in Y184.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 3-7u/1-4. Command Rating 6. EWP is 3. Can convert one CL (once per year) beginning in Y184. Cost is 3 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15003) HEAVY PF TENDER (HPF) After the Tholians began operating PFs against them, the Seltorians converted their HSC into a PF Tender in Y185.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply.
Counter Factors are 3-7uP/1-4P. Command Rating 6. EWP is 2. Can convert one CL or HSC (once per year) beginning in Y185. Cost for CL to HPF is 5 EP, cost for HSC to HPF is 2 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.602) War Destroyer (WDD) Following the logic used to produce the NCA, the Seltorians considered the same approach to produce a heavier version of their destroyer. The proposal called for adding a small front hull to existing destroyers. Plans for this improvement were cancelled because the small front hull section had to be produced in the same facilities that wre used to produce the destroyer-frigate front hulls. The Seltorians were not willing to giveup the production of NCAs.

(R15P.801) PICKET SCOUT (FFS) A small scout built by the Seltorians, at the direction of the Neo-Tholians, for the purposes of patrolling newly captured systems to monitor any attempt by these races toward revolting.
F&E FACTS: For those players wishing to add this ship to their F&E games the following would apply. Factors are 2-5u/1-3. Command Rating 5. EWP is 1. Add one FFS to initial Seltorian set up. Can covert FF to FFS beginning in the Spring of Y183. Conversion cost is 2 EP. A counter is provided.

(R15P.802) War Frigate (WFF) Along with the plans to produce a heavier destroyer, the Seltorians drew up plans to improve their frigates. Like the destroyer, the plans for this improvement were cancelled in favor on producing additional NCAs.

(R15001) CORVETTE (COR) With the help of the Klingons, the Seltorian developed their own Corvette. They found that this was a quick and easy ship to build in their quest to eliminate the Tholians. It was introduced in Y184.

Note: Due to the small size of this ship, a type-VI drone does 4 pts. of damage rather than 2, and any defensive fire systems treat this ship as if it was a PF.
Note: This ship can land and take off from a planet using all landing systems.

(TUG PODS) The Seltorians used a variety of tug pods in the Tholian Home Galaxy. (R15P.901) was a cargo pod. (R15P.902) was a self defense pod which gave up some cargo capacity for an increase in self protection. (R15P.903) was a repair pod used when the Hive ship was not available. (R15P.904) was a troop transport and was used extensively in the overthrowing of the Tholians. (R15P.905) was a battle pod that was based on the Tholian BP. It increases the command rating by 2.
The following two pods were built only after the Seltorians arrived in our galaxy. (R15P.906) was a carrier pod built with Klingon help The carrier pod increases the command rating by 1. (R15P.907) was a PF pod again built with Klingon help.>
