Kilauea
Iki Crater
or Little Kilauea is located within Volcanos National Park.
The hike through the crater is wonderful. It begins on the crater
rim at about 4000 feet in elevation where a number of native bird
species still can be heard. Puu Pua`i, the cinder cone on the
southwest side of the crater last erupted in 1959. Water trickles
through the lava floor of the crater where the earth is still hot
enough to turn it to steam. |

Tiki
Carving.
This carving is located near a reconstructed Heiau at Pu'uhonua o
Honaunau. In this animated image I'm trying to convey something
of the mana of this place. |
